The Kaufmann Traveler’s Guides: First Volumes Arrive in 2026
I’m happy to share the first details of a project that’s been quietly underway for a while: The Kaufmann Traveler’s Guides, a printed paperback series and the companion to the World Travel Factbook.
Where the Factbook is the digital reference to all 273 destinations on Earth, the Traveler’s Guides are the bookshelf — a designed paperback library, one country at a time. Each volume covers a destination’s history, cities, monuments, landscapes, food, people, and practical travel.
The first releases
- United States of America — the first volume, arriving Q3 2026.
- Canada, Mexico, Japan, and the Czech Republic — following in Q4 2026.
- France and Germany — in preparation.
From there the series rolls out destination by destination, until it spans the full Factbook — roughly 160–190 books in all, with major countries as standalone volumes and smaller nations and territories gathered into elegant regional collections.
Why paperback, why now
A factbook answers questions. A guide tells a story you can carry. The two are meant to be read together — one on the screen, one in the hand.
